Atrax welcomed New Zealand’s Prime Minister, Christopher Luxon, to company HQ.
In August, Atrax was honoured to welcome New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon and a party including Greg Fleming, local MP for the Maungakiekie electorate, to Atrax Group headquarters in Penrose, Auckland.
Mr Luxon toured the Atrax Group offices and factory, guided by Atrax Group founder and managing director, Kevin Maurice.
“It was my pleasure to give Mr Luxon and Mr Fleming a tour of our facility, introduce them to staff and colleagues, and give them insights into our business, our products and our manufacturing and production processes. The team demonstrated various of our systems, products and testing procedures. Atrax has been Penrose-based for nearly 40 years, selling our products both locally and globally into over 165 countries and territories, and we are very proud to be recognised for the part we play in taking world-class New Zealand weighing and dimensioning products, services and solutions to the world,” Mr Maurice said.
After the tour, staff, friends of Atrax and colleagues from New Zealand Trade and Enterprise, New Zealand-China Trade Association, and Penrose Business Association were delighted to share afternoon tea, swap anecdotes and have photos taken with Mr Luxon and Mr Fleming.
In a brief speech, Mr Luxon thanked Atrax for hosting him and his party and said learning more about Atrax Group, its products and services, and the focus on both local and international sales, was inspiring and exciting. He also touched on the fact that many of Atrax’s staff members are immigrants who chose to make a life in New Zealand: “We are living in a very important part of the world, the Indo-Pacific region, and we have 4.3 billion people that want more of New Zealand’s products and services. Congratulations on what you’ve all built. Walking around, meeting great people who come from all over the world, and seeing all the knowledge, experience and skills in the room, it’s inspiring. You are building a world-class company from Penrose – and it’s so exciting, because of the external orientation to go out there and sell the world’s best product out into the world. We wish you all the very best. We want a thousand companies like this in New Zealand out there doing exactly what you’re doing,” Mr Luxon said.
The ministerial visit was facilitated by the Penrose Business Association, and committee member Tony Aislabie, Director of Atrax partner Concentric Engineered Solutions, who recommended Atrax as an ideal local manufacturing business for Mr Luxon and his ministerial party to visit.
